Pity they made up. I was hoping a new truly right wing party would emerge in Australia. Reform Australia perhaps? Now we will be presented with the same old bxllshxt policies from the same old bxllshxit politicians. It's all theatre but not Shakespearean level, more like slapstick comedy.
"...Regional Australia fund...is not just idiotic policy, not just idiotic economics, but borderline corruption."
I don't disagree with you, but let's go back a bit to the sale of Telstra by Peter Costello. That was meant to pay for the unfunded superannuation liabilities of federal public servants, was it not?
How is that any different, considering that Telstra was 'owned by all of the people' (LOL...sure it was...)?
What makes public servants special?
I guess it - the funding of PSS/CSS liabilities - never happened though, because as far as I know, those same liabilities, which now amount to tens of billions of dollars in net present value, are STILL covered from general revenue.
Meanwhile the Future Fund is becoming a political plaything and soon we can expect Chris Bowen to have it fund the renewable nirvana and 'green hydrogen' projects that will propel the Stupid Country to the new golden age.
"Forcing Telecom Companies to Improve Regional Services - this is basically forcing Telstra, Optus and Vodaphone, all private entities, to build uneconomic towers in remote areas."
It is spelled 'Vodafone' with an 'F'.
And this has been a policy for many years. Back in the 90's, Vodafone got federal funding to cover major highways around the country. Telstra got many millions over the years to cover 'hot spots' like Aboriginal comunities in Woop-Woop.
But regardless, it is now defo a non-starter because it is already possible for some mobile phones to connect directly to the likes of Starlink, and all three carriers now have already announced plans to add satellite connectivity to their phone plans over the next few years. Which will give coverage over 100% of the country's area.
Still, never underestimate the stupidity and corruption of politicians. It was also obvious even back in 2008 that the NBN would be obsolete before it even started, yet here we are - Albo is giving them still more billions to blow.
And they already have a legal monopoly on fixed lines, yet they are about to increase prices.
"Supermarket Divestiture - Of course. Central planning writ large. This could have been demanded by Bob Katter..."
Well what do you know - this was actually KAP's official policy at the recent election!
Bob's a nice enough bloke in person, but he's always been a socialist at heart. And he is a 'proud CFMEU member' too!
It's no accident Katter was a National - his old party are just trying now to emulate his success! ;)
Seriously though, are you saying the Liberal climate bedwetters are any better?
I was also of the belief it would not take long but this was way short of my estimation. I just hope they can come up with a leader as at the moment they don't have one of consequence.

I live in a traditional Nats electorate, and I would not describe it as borderline!
Cheers

Pox on all of them!
"to build uneconomic towers in remote areas"
Also ignores, plenty of black spots, smack bang in central and suburban Sydney.

New name: The World According to Nostradamus.
Don't think so. Predicting this one was like predicting the sun coming up in the morning.
Too funny.
