Fascinating to read that a Coalition Government would “force public servants to return to the office”.
Reading this news this morning reminded The Spart of a recent customer experience with one of Australia’s largest telcos. There are only 3 so you guess which.
Old Sparty called this telco’s call centre, which based on voice and accent was clearly overseas. The purpose of the call was to terminate a phone service. A task made all more challenging not just because of the comprehension difficulties of the call centre operator but because of the constant sound of chickens in the background. Yes. Chickens.
As for Australian Public Servants “working” from home, remember that this deal was signed off by Senator from Canberra Katie Gallagher and Minister for the Public Service.
This is the most egregious conflicts of interest out there and why this has not been further ventilated by Opposition is unclear to me.
The existence of public sector unions is a problem. A big problem. Particularly when they have disproportionate say over one of Australia’s major political parties.
It used to be the case that public sector unions were illegal in the US. A view strongly supported by Franklin Dellano Roosevelt.
Perhaps it is time to consider that, public sector unions are to continue, public sector employees need to surrender their right to vote.
This will allow them more time to tend to their chickens.
