Why take risk? Why create? All you need to do is work for government and redistribute and waste and obfuscate. It’s the best career in town.
Amoungst the highest paid public servants in the world. Competence, accountability, delivery. That’s for the sucker tax payers.

I don't think the term obscenity is used enough.
I' regularly hear things described as "ridiculous" and "disgraceful".
I don't think those terms go far enough. Those pay packets are a obscenity i.e. that act of "being disgusting by accepted standards of morality and decency".
But, it's a good gig if you get on it. Clearly, responsibility lies with politicians that don't question or crack down the obscene practices. If only we had a DOGE.
