Talk about perverse incentives

It is reported in the SMH today that Opposition Leader Peter Dutton is considering promoting Senator Andrew Bragg to the shadow cabinet to stop Bragg talking (in favour) of The Voice.

I don’t know what’s worse:

• the idea of promoting Bragg to shut him up, or

• Bragg accepting a promotion as the price of being shut up.
