Another day another nonsense policy from the Albanese government. Who is advising these people? Clearly the twin twits of Chalmers and Kennedy are there - and you can never tell what they are going to advise.
So …
Just reported:
PM Anthony Albanese to deliver news on capped supermarket items for remote areas
Does he not understand what “remote areas” means? Its not just about travel distance leading to additional transport costs. But it also generally means few people across whom large transport costs can be amortised.
Residents in remote Indigenous areas will have the cost of essential grocery items capped at the same price as major cities.
In other words … residents in remote Indigenous areas will be unable to purchase essential grocery where prices have been capped.
It also means that the price of other items will go up.
This is economics 101. If there is a belief that the prices are high in remote areas because of some evil capitalists, as is likely believed in the Albanese cabinet, they would be wrong.
It’s because of simple economics. Higher transport costs. Higher storage costs. Fewer customers. Higher risk.
To deliver this policy idiocy will require either subsidies from the commonwealth to the grocery sellers or for the government to run their own supermarkets. A Steven Miles solution.
Every day, every minute, Labor, Liberal, National, Green, Teal emit policy idiocy.
No good fortune goes unpunished. Yes, Australia may be the lucky country because of our climate, geography, and natural resources. Unfortunately however we are plagued with idiots, morons and cretins in our governing class.
Serenity now! Serenity now!
This guy is getting more desperate and nuttier day by day. He has no understanding about the costs of transporting goods from the city to country areas. Also every six months these foolish politicians add more cost by indexing the excise on fuel by the inflation index. Stupid is as stupid does.
