The strategic circumstances that Australia face are probably the most volatile, most dangerous in decades.
These words or words to this effect are frequently wheeled out to say in bureaucratic speak that Australia is vulnerable from a security and defence perspective and in an increasingly unpleasant neighbourhood.
While there are hot wars in the Middle East and Eastern Europe and while our defence procurement is consistently shown to be incompetent and unaccountable, the Department of Defence continues to focus on the big and important things. Like recruiting for this position:

The key duties of the position include:

The incumbent of this position will concentrate on shaping culture and employee experience through a strategic lens and will transform, create and maintain culture by actively aligning JCG to Defence’s values and behaviours.
Shaping culture and employee experience. WTF.
Secondly and most importantly. How does this enhance or support Australia’s national security?
This nation is so stuffed and does not even realise it.

We do not need a culture warrior in the military. We need real armed warriors that can defeat an adversary.
We're truly stuffed.
