Migration impacts housing availability - who would have thunk it
HUD stands for Housing and Urban Development. It is a US government’s federal agency. Established in 1965, HUD focuses on national policies and programs that address housing needs, improve and develop communities, and enforce fair housing laws.
Thus in a statement of the bleeding obvious:
HUD officials blamed migration for having a "particularly notable impact on family homelessness, which rose 39% from 2023-2024."
Particularly notable. Interesting turn of phrase.
Honest at least though. Don’t expect any such honesty from the Australian government.
