I have deliberately avoided writing on matters The Voice as there are others who do better. That does not mean I have not been reading. And I read something most interesting this morning from Cameron Milner in the Australian today:
I believe Milner was a Queensland ALP state secretary and also Chief of Staff to Bill Shorten (when Shorten was opposition leader I believe).
Now when I read about matters of politics written by politicians I am always minded to the words of Sun Tzu:
All Warfare Is Based on Deception.
So was curious as to Milner’s intent when he wrote:
Albanese is no doubt looking over his shoulder at the leadership talent bristling on his frontbench, Tony Burke, Chris Bowen, Michelle Rowland and Jim Chalmers. The smart money is now on Burke to move first.
Was this comedy or serious commentary?
To count proven and repeated failures (Burke and Bowen) as leadership contenders either say something about Milner’s sense of humour or his lack of judgement. And the absence of the name Shorten from that list is telling also.
Net net, it seems there are ALP shenanigans afoot. This will be very interesting to watch.
He picked out the worst of the worst.
The present front bench is a granola cabinet.
Chock full of nuts, fruits and flakes.
Talent? Bowen, Burke, Rowland and Chalmers. I almost choked on my cup of tea when I read this. Four of the most useless people I can ever think of.
