Happy Birthday Mr President
Today marks what would have been 114th birthday of Ronald Reagan, America’s 40th President.
Reagan was almost certainly the best President in my lifetime … perhaps I am giving away hints of my age here.
Rhetoric was one of Reagan’s most important tools and as I have written before, one of hist most important speeches, his coming out address was ‘A Time for Choosing’.
Never let it be forgotten
… this idea that government is beholden to the people, that it has no other source of power except the sovereign people, is still the newest and the most unique idea in all the long history of man's relation to man.
Happy birthday Mr Reagan.
I definitely agree with your comment that Reagan was the best US president in my lifetime. Not one since has come close. I don't mind showing my age.
