I intend to write more over the coming days, but here are 2 of the first tables I look to in the budget papers.
Spending:
NDIS spending is now the 3rd largest program after monies to the states and the age pension. Impressive given that only (only!) 680,000 people are currently on the NDIS.
The projected increase from this year to next is 7.8%. Yeah. Don’t believe it for a second.
The increase in the year after is 5.3% and then 7.1% and then 7.9%, This is about as credible as the promises of $275 off energy prices.
“Commonwealth Debt Management” - the polite description for interest in debt is increasing from $24 billion to $42 billion over the forward estimates. This is DISGRACEFUL. This is the legacy of 20 years of economic LIB-LAB mismanagement. It is disgusting. This is the burden our children and grand children will need to bear to ensure these pathetic buffoons got to keep their fat arses on the Parliament house leather lounges and comm cars.
By the end of the “forwards” it will be the 5th largest spending program inthe budget.
Debt:
According to the the Treasury, gross debt by the end of June this year will be $940 billion. This is very interesting given, right now it sits at $956 billion.
I would love to know how the government indends to REDUCE debt by $16 billion over the next 3 months given they have INCREASED debt by $46 billion in the last 3 months. Especially given their proclivity to throw money at anything that moves.
If these people, Labor, Liberal, National, Greens, had any integrity, they would all resign. Today.
This budget is a vote buying insult to our intelligence.
